October was a fun and busy month for AMA! From meeting industry leaders to hanging out over pizza, our members had plenty of chances to learn, connect, and enjoy time together.
Bennie Johnson: Building a Career in Marketing
We started the month with a visit from Bennie Johnson, CEO of the American Marketing Association. He shared how his career started, the lessons he’s learned, and what it takes to grow in the marketing world. Bennie talked about staying adaptable, finding your path, and using your experiences to move forward. Members asked great questions and left with advice they could actually use. His talk gave everyone a better sense of what it means to build a career with purpose.

Mellonaid: Storytelling That Sells
Next, we partnered with the Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization for a session with Mihali Stavlas from Mellonaid. He shared how brands use storytelling to connect with people and why strategy matters when building a message that sticks. It was great hearing real examples of how creative thinking can shape a brand’s success. The room was full of conversation and ideas that left us all feeling
motivated.

AMA Percentage Night at Mellow Mushroom
Later in the month, we hosted our Percentage Night at Mellow Mushroom. It was the perfect break from the usual schedule. Members showed up to eat, laugh, and catch up while supporting the chapter. Between the pizza, stories, and jokes, the night reminded us how important it is to spend time together outside of meetings.

PetScreening: From Startup to Scale-Up
We ended the month with a visit from Andrew Hartman, Chief Growth Officer at PetScreening. He shared how the company grew from a small startup into a successful business. Andrew talked about growth, teamwork, and how innovation drives long-term success. His perspective gave us a real look at what it takes to lead and build something meaningful.

October was full of learning, connection, and fun. Each event offered something different, but all reminded us why AMA is such a strong community. We’re excited to carry that same energy into November.
